Welcome to The Wildlife Conservation and Education Center!

 New Jersey's "Bat-Cave!"

The ONLY zoological facility specializing in bats and bat conservation in the Tri-state area!

*Now open in our new Garfield, NJ location!!

*IMPORTANT!  Please check website or call before you plan your visit as our hours may change due to private events and outside programs.

Thank you for your understanding! PLEASE SEE PUBLIC HOURS BELOW.

The Wildlife Center will be open regular hours this Memorial Day weekend, May 25, 26 & 27.

Friday, 4pm-8pm, Saturday, 12pm-8pm and Sunday, 12pm-8pm.

  HOWEVER, on Sunday

Due to the town's Memorial Day parade, Midland Avenue will be closed on Sunday, to through traffic from approximately 10:30am until 3pm. Our business hours will be the same as usual (12pm-8pm) however, please plan alternate route as access to our parking lot will be blocked during the stated time frame. Taking River Drive down to Van Winkle Avenue and making a left should bring you down to the CVS on the corner of Van Winkle and Midland. Try parking there. Side streets are where visitors will find parking during that time (ie: Van Winkle Avenue, Chestnut Street, Cedar Street, etc.) You can also try getting to us from “Harrison Avenue” and go down “Charles” or “Frederick” street to Midland Avenue. Good things are hard to find! And to get to!! We’ll make it worth the trip!

If using GPS try inputting any of these side streets or landmarks like CVS, Midland avenue, Garfield..

Hello bat friends and family!

As many of you know, we have spent the last eight years in a wonderful little location in Ridgefield Park. As many of you also know, we had been looking for a larger location for quite some time. Well good news! We have finally found our new home!  We have moved to Garfield, New Jersey to a much larger and better location. The town and the people of Garfield have been wonderful, and we look forward to continuing our important work- educating the public on the importance of bats in every environment that they inhabit, on almost every continent on Earth!
Times have been tough for bats  lately, as they continue to face insurmountable obstacles including the devastating "white nose syndrome" disease and loss of habitats and poaching worldwide. We hope that  you will continue to support our endeavors and our center.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon,  and we are looking forward to everyone seeing our fantastic new home!

Very sincerely yours,
"New Jersey's Bat-Man"
